#5 Clara Belle (& Ukulele) - "Oh Well..." original song
***Message from Clara***
IM BACK!!!
Hello everyone, hope you are well.
I have finally got round to doing my 5th video. I know its been ages and I do apologise for my lack of communication...so sorry!
Ive been caving out in a studio in Notting Hill (West London) for the last few months recording my first album. It has been A LOT of work, like I was doing non-stop 16hrs a day, every single day. I didnt see any daylight for the whole of this summer! Yikes. But Ive really enjoyed the process and its been so therapeutic to de-clutter my thoughts and ideas out of my brain and to have them turned into an actual real physical product. So lovely! Though I think my brain has now got too much room, Im a little off balanced and spaced out...
This album, I am so proud of it! Ive never said this about anything Ive done in life, so its a big deal for me.
It is self-produced, with some help from the guys in my band. Ive had no creative input from any producer or songwriter, and that is exactly what I wanted to do this time round, to make it all me (now you know why I was in the studio for 16hrs per day!). Its been great to have to not compromise and have no fights with anyone over ideas etc.
My whole lifes work has gone in to it, so the album sounds a bit like the insides of my brain...yuk! Haha:0
But anyway, I have no regrets or excuses, which is the main thing.
Life is still hectic but this particular chapter is about to end, recording done, mixing done! Now I just have to get the tracks mastered, and I will get this done as soon as I can afford it. In the meantime, I am working on the artwork etc...
Rewinding back a couple of months...
My inbox went crazy again... One morning (25th of July to be precise) I had lots of traffic in my email account and I wasnt sure why, but then my friend told me that my Summer Face video had been featured on the homepage of YouTube!
My oh my!
Ive had such a lot of lovely comments and messages both on YouTube and MySpace! Thank you sooooo much! Sorry I havent been able to respond to your thoughts and requests. But simply there arent enough hours in a day to do everything! I have read them ALL though, and I was crying...again! (out of joy ofcourse) Every comment/message puts a smile on my face, gives me hope and a massive boost to keep going. You really have given me so much encouragement and support, I didnt realise there were so many lovely people in the world! You only hear such crap news on TV! I just assumed that the world was going bust. But its so comforting to know that there is still hope and a lot of love to go around...(sorry, a bit of a cheesy moment there...)
Moving on...
Some of you asked for lyrics so I put them up on my descriptions bit beside each video.
I havent got any tabs though, Im sorry.
This song is about the battle of being a female, the pain I refer to in verse2 is about waxing legs etc...nothing too deep.
Oh Well...
I want yours, and you want mine.
Maybe we will never be happy in time for the day we die, and say goodbye.
Dweedi darup ba dulia du dai...
Oh well, I guess thats the way it goes.
But surely theres more to life than just to get that nose?
Or wait forever just to be proposed?
Heyda da dup ba du di du dai...
***Oh well, oh well, does anybody hear a bell? x2
I want yours, and you want mine.
Cos we dont think we have what it takes to shine.
We go through pain and spend a lot of time.
Dweedi darup ba du di du dai...
Oh well, maybe thats the way it goes.
To impress the guys you have to strike the right pose.
You find one you like, theyre always gay. Who knows...?
Give a big sigh, were aloud to cry.
***Oh well...
Theres no time to dwell my friends.
We must compel til the end.
***Oh well...
Also I did an interview with Ploomy.com a while back and they sent me a T-shirt! They were such lovely people and gave me a lot of support and encouragement, so I thought Id wear the T-shirt in this video as a little thanks to them.
If you are interested you can read the interview here...

I will keep you updated regarding the album, hopefully it will be ready soon.
Thanks again and more soon!

Blondie - The Tide Is High - 1980
Blondie is a 12 time Grammy Award-winning American rock band that first gained global fame in the late 1960s. The band was a pioneer in the early American punk rock and New Wave scenes. Its first two albums contained strong elements of these genres, and although successful in Australia and the United Kingdom, Blondie was regarded as an underground band in the United States until the release of a third album in 1978. Over the next three years, the band achieved several hit singles and was noted for its eclectic mix of musical styles incorporating elements of disco, pop and reggae, while retaining a basic style as a New Wave band.
Lead singer Deborah Harry achieved a level of celebrity that eclipsed other band members leading to tension within the group. Following a poorly received album, and with core member Chris Stein diagnosed with a potentially fatal disease, the group disbanded in 1982.[1] As members pursued other projects, Blondie's reputation grew over the following decade and the group reformed in 1998, achieving renewed success and a number one single in the United Kingdom the following year. The group toured and performed throughout the world over the following years, and was inducted into both the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the RockWalk of Fame in 2006.[2]
Early career
In the early 1970s, Chris Stein moved to New York City, and inspired by the New York Dolls, aimed to join a similar band. He joined The Stilettos in 1973 as their guitarist and formed a romantic relationship with one of the band's vocalists, Deborah Harry. A former waitress and Playboy Bunny,[3] Harry had been a member of the folk-rock band, Wind in the Willows, in the late 1960s. In 1974, she parted ways with The Stilettos and Elda Gentile, the band's originator. Stein and Harry formed a new band with drummer Clem Burke, keyboard player Jimmy Destri and bass player Gary Valentine. Originally billed as "Angel and the Snake"[4] the band soon renamed themselves "Blondie" in late 1975. The name was taken from comments from truck drivers who called "Hey, Blondie" to Harry as they drove by.[5]
They became regulars at New York's Club 51, Max's Kansas City, and CBGB.[6] They got their first record deal with Private Stock Records in the mid-'70s and released their debut album Blondie in 1976,[2] along with the single "X-Offender". Private Stock Records was then bought out by the UK-based company, Chrysalis Records, and the first album was re-released on the new label in 1977[2] along with the single "Rip Her To Shreds". By this time, Valentine had been replaced by Nigel Harrison, and another guitarist Frank Infante had been added. Rolling Stone wrote about Blondie for the first time in August 1977[7] and observed the eclectic nature of the group's music, comparing it to Phil Spector and The Who and commented that the album's two strengths were Richard Gottehrer's production and the persona of Deborah Harry, saying she performed with "utter aplomb and involvement throughout: even when she's portraying a character consummately obnoxious and spaced-out, there is a wink of awareness that is comforting and amusing yet never condescending." It also noted that Harry was the "possessor of a bombshell zombie's voice that can sound dreamily seductive and woodenly Mansonite within the same song".[8]
Their first commercial success occurred in Australia in 1977, when the music television program Countdown mistakenly played their video "In the Flesh", which was the b-side of their current single "X-Offender".[2] Jimmy Destri later credited the show's Molly Meldrum for their initial success, commenting that "we still thank him to this day" for playing the wrong song.[9] In a 1998 interview, bandmember Clem Burke recalled seeing the episode in which the wrong song was played, but he and Chris Stein suggested that it may have been a deliberate subterfuge on the part of Meldrum. Stein asserted that "X-Offender" was "too crazy and aggressive [to become a hit]", while "In the Flesh" was "not representative of any punk sensibility. Over the years, I've thought they probably played both things but liked one better. That's all." In retrospect, Burke described "In the Flesh" as "a forerunner to the power ballad."[10]
Blondie, 1976. From left to right : Gary Valentine, Clem Burke, Deborah Harry, Chris Stein and Jimmy Destri. The single and album each reached the Australian top 5 in October 1977, and a subsequent double-a release of "X-Offender" and "Rip Her to Shreds", was also popular. A successful Australian tour followed in December, though it was marred by an incident in Brisbane when disappointed fans almost rioted after Harry cancelled a performance due to illness.

My Transformation
A 2 year program of weight lifting, diet, and a lot of time in the gym sent me from 135 to 182 lbs. Height increased from 5'11" to 6'0" - after puberty...this height increase of 1" (2.54cm) is just from bulking up!
One question I get a lot is "What's the name of the first song?" I don't know. It's the intro to an album I have but I'm not sure what it is. The mp3 file is just labeled "Intro" which in retrospect isn't very helpful. Hopefully one of you will figure that one out. The second song is Freek-A-Leek by Pete Pablo.
My body is ectomorphic. This means I have a very lean frame and it is hard for me to put the weight on. Thus, I really don't recommend running...yes if you are concerned about your heart you need to be, but I am 20 and I started running again, but the video I made captured my journey from 18-20, during which I did not run because it is so hard for me to put mass on.
Start out doing one body part a day. Some examples follow:
Monday: Chest
Tuesday: Back
Wednesday: Legs
Thursday: Arms
Friday: Shoulders
Sat/Sun: Rest or abs if you did not do them at least 3x during the week.
Day 1: BACK/REAR DELTS - bent over rows, bent over lateral raises, pull ups,
Day 2: QUADS/Lower Back -- squat, leg press, deadlift
Day 3: Chest- flat bench, incline bench, decline bench, flies
Day 4: Hams/Calves- calve raises, hamstring curls
Day 5: Delts/Traps -- front raises, lateral raises, shrugs
Day 6: Bi's/Tri's -- triceps extensions, skull crushers, close grip bench, all variations of curls (preacher, incline, concentration, standing, seated, cable)
Intense training periods: (like Christmas Break or Spring Break) or just when I want to pump up my training routine. These are 3 day spreads meaning the whole body is done twice a week instead of once.
Day 1: Chest/Shoulders/Triceps
Day 2: Thighs/Hamstrings/Calves
Day 3: Back/Biceps
Day 1: Chest/Upper Back
Day 2: Thighs/Hamstrings/Calves
Day 3: Traps/Delts/Bis/Tris/Lower Back
Get in the gym and get out- if you exercise for too long you burn all your carbohydrates stores and you won't have energy to rebuild the muscle. So for your chest... do 3 sets of bench and 3 sets of flies and end with 2-3 sets of push-ups to really exhaust the muscle. If you are not sore the next day...you didn't work hard enough. That's it, then leave the gym this should take no more than 45min.
The next day is back: try doing bent over rows 3 sets of 8-12 and 50 pull ups. Maybe 5 sets of 10, or 6 sets of 8... and then get 1 or 2 more, just get to 50, it doesn't matter how many sets just keep pushing until you get there. Then you're done- leave the gym, drink a protein shake, and 45-60min later, start eating. So maybe get a shower and then eat- eating right after working out is not good.
Finally, you need to start eating a LOT more...here's my typical diet from this past year:
7:00am: 4-5 eggs sunny side up, 6 slices ham or turkey, banana, 2 glasses milk, 1 glass juice, 2 pieces whole wheat toast
9:00am: Banana, protein shake, (whatever food I've stolen from breakfast...usually low fat cottage cheese)
12:00pm: some type of meat, banana, 4 glasses milk, 2 glasses juice, whole wheat bread 3 slices, (steal some meat for later), vegetables
2:00pm: Whatever I've stolen from lunch...usually 4-5 slices of meat.
3:00-4:30pm Workout: 1-1.5 hours
5:15pm: This is a huge meal for me...usually at least 5 glasses milk, 2 steaks or equivalent meat, cottage cheese with low fat yogurt and raisins, 4 pieces of whole grain bread, vegetables, (steal food for later)
9:00pm: snack- more turkey or chicken breast, water or protein shake
12:00am: before bed snack- banana, chicken breast, 2 tbs. peanut butter.
These are just some suggestions, please don't be offended at my brutal honesty. I also use a fair number of supplements. My supplementation schedule consists of these supplements spaced evenly throughout the day:
3 tabs Tribulus Terrestris
3 tabs ZMA
1 tab 25ug chromium picolinate
5 g creatine (2.5 before/2.5 after workout)
1 scoop NO-Explode made by BSN before workout
1g vitamin C
3 tabs perfect cycle liver support made by anabolic extreme
3 25mg tabs DHEA
3 servings Cytogainer by Cytosport
Note that these supplements are relatively safe to use based on numerous studies in the Journal of Exercise Physiology published by ASEP—the Bible of exercise scientists worldwide. I neither recommend, promote, nor use anabolic steroids, pro-hormones, and designer steroids.
So to sum it up: focus on 1 body part a day, eat HUGE QUANTITIES—clean food, stop running. You can run when you gain the mass you want and running will actually get you very cut up and defined, but for this "mass bulking" stage, you need to restrict it provided you are a scrawny guy like me. Still stretch before lifting and warm up before heavy sets.

Language of Psilocybin
Psilocybin is absorbed through the lining of the mouth and stomach. Effects begin 1040 minutes after ingestion of psilocybin-containing mushrooms, and last from 26 hours depending on dose, species, and individual metabolism.[11] A typical recreational dosage is from 1050 mg psilocybin. The effects of psilocybin are highly variable, and dependent on the current mood and overall sense of well-being by the individual. Initially the subject may begin to feel somewhat disorientated, lethargic, and euphoric or sometimes depressed. At low doses, hallucinatory effects may occur, including enhancement of colors and the animation of geometric shapes. Closed-eye visuals may occur, where the affected individual may see multi-coloured geometric shapes and vivid imaginative sequences. At higher doses, hallucinatory effects increase and experiences tend to be less social and more introspectic or entheogenic. Open-eye visuals are more common, and may be very detailed although rarely confused with reality. Users having a pleasant experience may feel ecstatic, including a deep sense of connection to others, confusion, hilarity, and a general feeling of connection to nature and the universe. Difficult experiences or bad trips may occur in some individuals, often when consumed during emotional turmoil, in a non-supportive or inadequate environment, by an inexperienced person, or in an unexpectedly high dose (see: set and setting). Latent psychological issues may be triggered by the strong emotional components of the experience. [12] Some of these individuals report that they have experienced a 'spiritual' episode. For example, in the Marsh Chapel Experiment, which was run by a graduate student at Harvard Divinity School under the supervision of Timothy Leary, almost all of the graduate degree divinity student volunteers who received psilocybin reported profound religious experiences. A brief video about the Marsh Chapel experiment can be viewed here. In 2006, a group of researchers from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine led by Roland R Griffiths conducted an experiment assessing the degree of mystical experience and attitudinal effects of the psilocybin experience; this report was published in the journal Psychopharmacology. Thirty-six volunteers without prior experience with hallucinogens were given psilocybin and methylphenidate (Ritalin) in separate sessions, the methylphenidate sessions serving as a control and psychoactive placebo; the tests were double-blind. The degree of mystical experience was measured using a questionnaire on mystical experience developed by Ralph W Hood; 61% of subjects reported a "complete mystical experience" after their psilocybin session, while only 13% reported such an outcome after their experience with methylphenidate. Two months after taking psilocybin, 79% of the participants reported moderately to greatly increased life satisfaction and sense of well-being. About 36% of participants also had a strong to extreme experience of fear or dysphoria (i.e., a bad trip) at some point during the psilocybin session (which was not reported by any subject during the methylphenidate session), with about one-third of these (13% of the total) reporting that this dysphoria dominated the entire session. These negative effects were reported to be easily managed by the researchers and did not have a lasting negative effect on the subjects sense of well-being.[13] Further measures at 14 months after the psilocybin experience confirmed that participants continued to attribute deep personal meaning to the experience. This research was widely covered in the major media outlets.[14] The research team cautions that if hallucinogens are used in less well supervised settings, the possible fear or anxiety responses could lead to harmful behaviors.[15] Further studies by this group are investigating the relationship of psilocybin dose to likelihood of mystical experience in healthy volunteers[citation needed] and whether mystical experiences in volunteers given psilocybin can help with anxiety and poor mood due to cancer.[16] . Individual brain chemistry and metabolism plays a large role in determining a person's response to psilocybin. Psilocybin is metabolized mostly in the liver where it becomes psilocin. It is broken down by the enzyme monoamine oxidase. MAO inhibitors have been known to sustain the effects of psilocybin for longer periods of time; people who are taking an MAOI for a medical condition or are seeking to potentiate the mushroom experience may experience highly potentiated effects. Mental and physical tolerance to psilocybin builds and dissipates quickly. Taking psilocybin more than three or four times in a week (especially on consecutive days) can result in diminished effects. Tolerance dissipates after a few days, so frequent users often keep doses spaced five to seven days apart to avoid the effect.
