Newbies-to-Tokusatsu Guidebook: Part I
EDIT PLEASE READ
Because SOMEBODY decided to make an ass out of themselves about tiny details that really didn't matter, i'll be making corrections in this description and in future parts as needed. I was making this with the intention of clueing in people who were new to it. This is how I was introduced to it: Power Rangers as a segway to Sentai as a segway to Kamen Rider as a segway to Ultraman, and so on, and so on. I'm following THAT set-up. I'll make a complete chronological thing in the last video of the series. If you don't like the way i'm doing it, then tough shit.
Tokusatsu means "special effects." And it was the 50's. SOOOO-REE.
If you took the BFJ Robo as the intro to the genre, that wasn't my intention. I just meant for the SS franchise. JEEZ.
I'm in the process of figuring out a subtitle program to make my corrections to the videos. I had no idea how to make those before. Next time, just POINT THEM OUT TO ME. YOU ASS.
Look at it as something BY a newbie FOR newbies. I'll be covering the 'big four' in this whole thing: Sentai, Kamen Rider, Ultraman, and Metal Heroes, as well as its American counterparts, just touching on other miscelaneous stuff. Because really, there's a LOT in this genre, too much for me to possibly cover them all.
