Racing Truths
It is LONG and pretty much entirely text.
From my last video, people got the message that I am anti racing. I am not. However, I am, like everyone else currently involved in racing, quite disillusioned by the amount of breakdowns.
Please carefully read the text, and take in what I am trying to say. There is subtle sarcasm and such, if you don't understand what I mean, or are too impatient to sit there and objectively read this, then move on.
I worked at the track for a few years, but am in school so cannot. I owned an ex-racer who had a slab fracture. He needed 6 months of stall rest then would be fine. His owner refused to pay, and said to send him to auction (aka to go be dogfood) We took him, even though we had no money, and raised him to be a lead pony. He was 3 years old when he broke down.
The trainer who cared for these owner's horses hated him, as did everyone else in the barn. A year after my horse broke down, this trainer bought the owner's entire string of racehorses, so he could no longer be so careless.
Not everyone in racing is cruel. There are some assholes, but there are many, many more caring, compassionate people. The people who worked around horses like Eight Belles and Barbaro were likely way more greivous than any PETA supporters were.
No comments or ratings again, because frankly, I don't give two shits about your opinion. If you have anything INTELLEGENT and THOUGHTFUL to add, even if it's anti racing (quite a few of the points in this video were anti racing) then you can message me. But if it's argumentative dribble, I will not respond.
