F-16 MATV Axisymmetric vectoring in the early 1990's.
This is a video of the F-16 MATV using axisymmetric thrust vectoring in the early 90's..years before the Mig-29 OVT. The video showing the nozzles moving in the video is in a slowed down video frame rate mode.
The jet was one of a few different jets like the X-31, NF-16D, F-18 HARV and F-15 ACTIVE used to study the gains and weak points of thrust vectoring and axisymmetric thrust vectoring. All the test work on these jets went into the F-22.
It was learned only so much can be gained by axisymmetric thrust vectoring in terms of how it could help a fighter jet in air to air combat. The truth is, high AOA maneuvers should only be a last-ditch operation in aerial combat in view of the increased vulnerability of the aircraft when it is in a low-energy state. The F-22 has pitch vectoring for any kind of last-ditch operations but, the study helped prove stealth, radar range, real time data updates for targeting are better over all tools in modern air to air combat.

X-31 3D thrust vectoring
I was kinda dissapointed when I found out that the f-35A (Our future fighter) will not have thrust vectoring. With the system experimented with the x-31 prototype, the f-35 can perform much better than the su-47 in combat.

Throttle Mapping and Thrust Vectoring
SpeedUp's Laramie Rose continues to move toward hover testing. The thrust-vectoring vanes have been installed, and the vehicle is mounted on a set of 3-axis load cells. We measured thrust vs. throttle position in the first test, and the effectiveness of the thrust-vectoring vanes on the second test. Sharp eyes will see one of the vanes moving near the end of the test, and some peroxide dripping from a fitting that is easily replaced.

This radio control jet can be set up with 4-6ch with 4-7 servos. The canards can be used. It has vectoring thrust as well. We also have a thrust vectoring MiG-29 and F-22 as well.

Its a 6mm Depron 4ch RC airplane of a MiG-29 jet. It has vectoring thrust on the elevator. We also have a F-22 and EuroFigher with the same thrust vectoring set up.
