Cripple the dropships first by destroying the APUs. Don't waste too much time against the laser turrets and Vendettas as the dropship has devestating weapons that will make your life hell if it powers up. The dropship itself is hard to destroy, but the blast from the destroyed APUs weaken its hull significantly.
