Cafferty: Was Palin Properly Vetted to Be VP?

There's a growing sense that John McCain may not have done all his homework before making his V.P. pick.
Alaska Governor Sarah Palin is now grabbing headlines for all the wrong reasons: her 17-year-old unmarried daughter is pregnant.Palin has hired a private lawyer in the trooper probe ethics investigation. She was for the bridge to nowhere before she was against it. Palin appeared at a convention of the Alaska Independence Party — which tried to get votes on whether the state should secede from the union. Her husband was arrested 22 years ago on a DUI. And, although Palin is now railing against earmarks, she got hundreds of millions of dollars in federal funding for local projects as both governor and as mayor of Wasilla.
There's more. What about her foreign policy credentials? CNN's Campbell Brown repeatedly asked McCain spokesman Tucker Bounds last night why Palin is ready to be commander-in-chief, what qualifications she has, and to name one foreign policy decision Palin has made -- Campbell never got an answer. It's reported that Palin may have only traveled overseas once, last year to Germany and Kuwait.
This has all led many to wonder how thorough of a vetting the Alaska governor got. McCain only met with Palin once and had one phone conversation with her before offering her the job. It raises serious questions about the kind of judgment McCain would use as president to make other big decisions.
Here's my question to you: Was Governor Sarah Palin properly vetted before being named John McCain's V.P.?

Vetted G8: 2009 Pontiac G8 GXP - Sport Truck @ 2008 NYAS

Two words: Corvette power. Yes, the 2009 Pontiac G8 GXP gets the same LS3 V8 as the Chevrolet Corvette. Sure, the GXP's more restrictive intake knocks the 6.2-liter V8 down to 402 horsepower and 402 pound-feet of torque, but that's still 41 extra hp and 17 more lb-ft of torque than the 2008 Pontiac G8 GT.
Pontiac says this is enough power to get the new 2009 Pontiac G8 GXP from zero to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds and through the quarter-mile in 13 seconds flat at 108 mph. Not bad for a car that is expected to sticker for "just under $40,000," according to Brian Shipman, the Pontiac G8's product manager.

PRANK'D! - PALIN PRANK CALL - "SARKOZY" CALL NOT VETTED - JUST LIKE PALIN
For over 5 minutes Governor Sarah Palin had a conversation with a comedian making a prank call. And she never "got it", never questioned the authenticity of the call. But let's begin at the beginning. First, McCain never vetted Palin, and it came to pass that he had to do damage control on negative Palin info, hurting his campaign. Examples? Pregnant daughter. Troopergate. Alaska Independence Party. Vogler. Secession. Witch Doctor from Africa, Pastor Thomas Mutha. Todd Palin drunk driving. Todd Palin's heavy involvement in Sarah Palin's administration. Bridge to Nowhere. Plane sold on E-bay (not sold on E-bay). Palin's lack of knowledge about national and international affairs. In short, Sarah Palin would most likely be a worse president than George Bush, if she had to, in case something happened to the 72 year old McCain (like cancer, heart attack, stroke, senility, Alzheimer's, etc). And Bush is the worst president ever in our nation's history.
Next, lack of intelligence. Let's face it. Sarah Palin is dumb. That's D-U-M-B. She is worse than dumb, she's dumber than Bush. Remember, Bush was a "C student." Sarah Palin doesn't read newspapers. She couldn't name any Supreme Court decision that she disagreed with. Not one. She attended 5 colleges and universities in 4 years, graduating with a journalism degree. That isn't helpful to a politician running the most powerful nation in the world, a heartbeat away, no less, a 72 year old hearbeat at that. A tired heart, no matter how strong the spirit, McCain is old. Face it, any day, any hour, any moment Palin could be called on to take over. She couldn't do it. She's not ready, she's light years away.
Finally, common sense. This prank call clearly illustrates her stupidity. At one point the caller says, mocking her: "From my ass, I can see Belgium." Pathetic that she doesn't take offense. "Sarkozy" says his wife is "hot" in bed. Again, she doesn't take offense. Sarkozy says he likes to kill animals. "Sarkozy" jokes, improperly, about not hunting with Dick Cheney. Again, no problem. "Sarkozy" even tests her knowledge of world leaders by naming a fake Prime Minister of Canada. Palin doesn't get it, because she has no clue who the real PM of Canada is. "Sarkozy" even mentions the name of a porno movie, inspired by Sarah Palin (Hustler's "Nailin' Paylin). She doesn't get it, because evidently she doesn't keep up with pop culture related to her person. It seems she knows who Tina Fey is though, having gone on SNL to reinforce the Tina Fey caricature of her, in the Sarah Palin Rap.
The one good thing that could be said about her is this: She didn't take the bait and admit to "Sarkozy" that she wants to be President. She said, "In 8 years"...
In short, we Americans need to pass judgment on Sarah Palin. I make no attempt to hide my disgust with Sarah Palin. I do recognize that she is just as much a Victim as she is a Perpetrator. John McCain passed up several highly qualified Republican men and women to pick Palin. A real Maverick would have picked Joe Liebermann for VP. Yeah, John McCain & Joe Liebermann would have been hard to beat.
McCain's hero story and Liebermann's brains. Sarah Palin, on the other hand, is perpetrating a fraud...

Cockpit Voice Recorder - Delta Airlines Flight 1141 Crash
Delta Air Lines Flight 1141 was a flight that flew from Jackson to Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport to Salt Lake City International Airport in Salt Lake City, Utah. On August 31, 1988, Flight 1141 crashed after takeoff from Dallas-Fort Worth Airport.
Two of the seven crew members and twelve of the 101 passengers on board lost their lives.
On this occasion, the aircraft was a Boeing 727 Advanced, registration number N473DA. It was delivered in 1973, the 992nd Boeing 727 to be delivered.
Two facts were primarily blamed for the tragedy of flight 1141: The crew had not ensured that the wing's flaps were properly positioned for take-off, and the plane's unprepared take-off horn was not functioning. As a result, the plane struck a nearby object immediately after taking off, causing the accident.
In an unexpected sequel to the investigation, the broadcast of the cockpit voice recorder (CVR) by the media demonstrating why the crew mistakenly mispositioned the flaps, provoked such an outcry by pilots, that subsequent releases of CVR data are protected by law and are carefully vetted by the NTSB. FAA regulations require a sterile cockpit before takeoff. This means there is to be no conversation outside of talk pertaining to the plane and pending flight. (For example, reviewing Pre-Takeoff checklists.) The CVR tapes recorded extensive talk about the pilots' mixed beverages and the dating habits of the flight attendants.
After impact, the aircraft broke into two peices and skidded to a stop some four thousand feet from the end of the runway. As evacuation procedures were begun, a fire broke out near the fuel lines to the engines in the rear of the aircraft. Out of the 108 passengers and crew aboard, 14 did not live to tell their story. The Captain was the last person to leave the aircraft alive, removed some 45 minutes after the accident.
