HONDA VFR800 VFR RC46
ホンダ・VFR（ブイエフアール）は本田技研工業が発売している4ストロークV型4気筒水冷エンジン搭載のスポーツ用オートバイである。
経歴
VFRはホンダ・VFの後継車種として1986年4月に発売された。ロードレース世界選手権に投入したNR500で培った技術を生かしたと標榜しながらも今ひとつスポーツ性に欠けた先代モデルの反省に立ち、内容を一新すると同時に車名にRを付け加えてVFRとし、新たなシリーズとして生まれ変わったものである。
中型免許で乗れる400ccクラスには、ワークスレーサーRVF400の市販車モデルという位置づけでスポーティーな味付けがされたフルカウル型のVFR400Rと、カウルを持たないネイキッド型のVFR400Zが存在する。また、世界耐久選手権で活躍したRVF750をイメージしながらも落ち着いたスタイルに仕上げたVFR750Fという、対照的なキャラクターを持ったラインナップで販売が開始された。
750ccクラスに於いてもVFR750R通称RC-30というプロダクションレース用のベース車両として開発されたスポーティーなモデルが生まれたが、その路線は後にVFR400Rも含めてホンダ・RVFシリーズへと移り変わり、VFRとしては750ccのVFR750Fだけが残った。そして1998年4月のモデルチェンジで排気量を800ccまで拡大したのを機に、車名も排気量を表す数字を省いたVFRとなり、現在に至る。
VFR(RC46)
プロダクションレーサーであるRVF/RC45の基本コンポーネントを踏襲しつつ、ツアラーとしてRC36からその役割を引き継いだ。エンジンは2mmロングストローク化され排気量は781ccになり、180度クランクに変更された。
1998年にデビュー、2000年には三元触媒HECS3を搭載しNOx,CO2共に低レベルの排出量で環境にも配慮。
2002年にフルモデルチェンジされ、エンジンはバルブ休止システムHYPER-VTECを搭載し低回転時の出力を改善したが、代々続いていたカムギアトレーンはコスト・騒音・重量問題から廃止されてしまった。
現行モデルのRC46-2はオプションで純正パニアケースを用意、更に強化されたフレームも相まってタンデムツアラーとして人気を集める。特に欧米では、800ccクラスながら1000ccと同等の高級スポーツツアラーとして知られている。

Honda VFR800 (2004) - Laser Deeptone Exhaust (2/4)
This clip is of the VFR with Laser pipes. This time, the two bigger mufflers are mounted up top and the two smaller ones are left off. They flow a lot more this way.
The idle sound is still very low and throaty. Lower revs sound really deep as well. When that VTEC kicks in above 7000rpms tho, things get a bit crazy. I love the sound of these pipes on the Viffer and so should you. Crank that volume!
