Hervás a very pretty village of spain
Pero es en el s. XII cuando arranca la historia de Hervás. En 1186 el rey de Castilla comienza la reconquista cristiana de los territorios cercanos a la calzada romana ocupado por almohades. Existe la creencia de que la porblación habÃa pertenecido a la Orden del Temple en tiempos de la Reconquista y era una aldea de Béjar. Hervás pasó a depender del SeñorÃo de Los Zúñiga, Dúques de Béjar, hasta que en 1816, por concesión del Rey Fernando VII, obtuvo el privilegio de villazgo cuyo simbolo es el rollo y fué cabeza de una jurisdicción que antes estuvo sujeta a Granadilla, "por tener todas las proporciones para ser uno de los pueblos más felices del reino", según consta en el Real Privilegio de Exención y Villazgo.
