05 Zenith - Swarm
After two other high-energy trance-techno mixes for the Global Underground series, Nick Warren slips firmly into a dreamier pulse with this Amsterdam set. The journey evokes the spatial climes of deserts and mountains more than it does sweaty European dance floors, but take that as tribute to Warren's ever-developing style and ability to find different gears for different journeys. Not that he sacrifices energy. His own Way Out West supply a power shift with "Intensify," Main Element's "Hedfuck" is a fine slice of pumping trance-funk, and Fluke's "Bullet (Cannonball)" brings a tribal vibe to matters. Warren continues to get a little more late-night on disc two, dropping some of the funk, bringing up the "pump" and getting down to some hard techno-trance. Futureshock hit the fast lane with the irrepressible, driving "Sparc" and Sonic Infusion cruise firmly with "Reformatted" before Warren brings his deftest, broadest Global mix yet to a close with the sweeping atmospherics of Ariane's "Eternity (Stripped Mix)." In short, this is another great mix by Warren, and it's proof-positive that he remains one of techno-trance's most progressive DJs. --Steffan Chirazi
House/Trance: CD1 is the Deeper Mix, but it's far from a warm up. Instead, it swings from the android voice echoes of Soul Mekanik's 'I'll Call U' to the Canter of Fluke's vintage Brit House anthem 'Bullet'. CD2 starts with an explosion: H-Bomb's 'Groove Attack', Futureshock's 'Sparc' runs Giorgio Moroder down with a vicious rhythm. Neil Himmos's 'Play' toys with Sound System Bass.

Fulltone Custom Effects are the first to put out an exact copy of the legendary vintage 1960's Uni-vibe. The Mini-Deja' Vibe has that dripping phase / chorused sound that helped make Hendrix's "Machine Gun" such an epic masterpiece!

Because the Mini-DV has a unique voltage-doubling circuit, you can use any standard 9-volt adapter or power supply (the FPS-1 is included*).
