Southport Visiter: Family takes a spin in a Sinclair C5
IT may be more than 20 years since the Sinclair C5 hit the roads of Britain, but for one Southport family, the battery-powered tricycle is back for good.
The Hardy family has joined forces to restore an original Sinclair C5 - which once belonged to Les Dennis's comedy partner, Dustin Gee.
Dustin was appearing in pantomime with Les at Southport Theatre over Christmas in 1985, but suffered a fatal heart attack in January 1986, before the end of the run.
The electric tricycle, invented by Sir Clive Sinclair in 1985, was raffled after his death and won by Southport lady, Agnes Lloyd.

Southport Visiter: New Southport FC manager Gary Brabin
Southport Visiter sports reports:
Southport manager Peter Davenport has left the club with immediate effect. Assistant Huw Griffiths has also left.
Recent results under Davenport were "unacceptable", according to Southport FC's vice-chairman.
The former England striker was surprisingly dismissed as manager of the Sandgrounders this morning.
Sam Shrouder revealed that with the team in its current position, the board felt a fresh start was necessary to make sure of promotion success.
Fan-favourite Gary Brabin has been drafted in for the side's final five league games of the season, and any potential play-off places.
The Southport official admitted that Saturday's 4-1 defeat to Solihull Moors was the nail in the coffin for Davenport and assistant Huw Griffiths, who are without a home league win in 2008.

Southport Visiter: Ainsdale Edwardian Day 2008
AN EDWARDIAN Day came to Ainsdale on Saturday, when the town evoked a lost world of empire.
Children donned their finest 'Cowboys and Indians' attire for the parade, a firm favourite with visitors to the event.
The crowds thronged the pavements of the pretty village, with funfair rides for the children, stalls and live music. Sefton Schools Brass Ensemble and Ainsdale C of E Primary School both performed, and both excelled.

FABULOUS family fun was had by thousands of local residents at the fifth annual Southport Charity Fun Fest.
A sun-soaked Princes Park was packed over two days for what organisers have declared a terrific success. Entertainers on the day included this team of freestyling footballers.

Southport Visiter: Ken Dodd comes to Southport
TOURISM'S great and good were seriously tickled when they gathered at the Royal Clifton Hotel on Monday.
King of mirth, Ken Dodd OBE, kept the laughs flowing on the opening evening of the 2008 British Resorts and Destinations Association (BRADA) conference.
Knotty Ash's most famous son was the guest of honour at the Promenade establishment, where he was made an honorary fellow of BRADA in recognition of his decades of service to resort entertainment.

Southport Visiter: Say hello to Dolly the pot bellied pig
WHEN Crystal Duffey takes her prized pet out for a walk, she is guaranteed to turn a few heads.
Although he enjoys regular strolls around Churchtown with his owner, 10-month-old Dolly is no ordinary pet - the adorable animal is a pot-bellied pig.
Crystal, 13, got Dolly as a Christmas present, and he has lived in the house with the Duffey family ever since.

Southport Visiter: Blokarting on Ainsdale Beach
THE National Blokarting championships took place last weekend on Ainsdale beach. A fleet of 24 Blokarts raced up and down the beach and Justin Heap, from Cheshire, won the first round at Ainsdale.
