"If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow Me." Christ read the ruler's heart. Only one thing he lacked, but that was a vital principle. He needed the love of God in the soul. This lack, unless supplied, would prove fatal to him; his whole nature would become corrupted. By indulgence, selfishness would strengthen. That he might receive the love of God, his supreme love of self must be surrendered. {DA 519.4}
Christ gave this man a test. He called upon him to choose between the heavenly treasure and worldly greatness. The heavenly treasure was assured him if he would follow Christ. But self must yield; his will must be given into Christ's control. The very holiness of God was
Christ's dealing with the young man is presented as an object lesson. God has given us the rule of conduct which every one of His servants must follow. It is obedience to His law, not merely a legal obedience, but an obedience which enters into the life, and is exemplified in the character. God has set His own standard of character for all who would become subjects of His kingdom. Only those who will become co-workers with Christ, only those who will say, Lord, all I have and all I am is Thine, will be acknowledged as sons and daughters of God. All should consider what it means to desire heaven, and yet to turn away because of the conditions laid down. Think of what it means to say "No" to Christ. The ruler said, No, I cannot give You all. Do we say the same? The Saviour offers to share with us the work God has given us to do. He offers to use the means God has given us, to carry forward His work in the world. Only in this way can He save us. {DA 523.1}
23Then Jesus said to his disciples, "I tell you the truth, it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. 24Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God."
The ruler's possessions were entrusted to him that he might prove himself a faithful steward; he was to dispense these goods for the blessing of those in need. So God now entrusts men with means, with talents and opportunities, that they may be His agents in helping the poor and the suffering. He who uses his entrusted gifts as God designs becomes a co-worker with the Saviour. He wins souls to Christ, because he is a representative of His character. {DA 523.2}
This is the example when the young ruler came to Christ and then Jesus showed him the currency of heaven in contrast with the worldly currency. And that was a test. The young ruler wanted heaven´s currency, and he was attracted by the Savior. But finaly he assessed the thing diferently than Christ.

The 80:20 Principle-80% of Nation's Wealth by 20% of Rakyat
This is Ramli's Video Journey-Thoughts of Ramli Abu Hassan's series.
The 12th Malaysian General Elections have ended and all Winners have been recoqnised and rewarded with new positions as PM,MBs',MPs',ADUNs' etc..
The Rakyat have performed their salient roles and elected the New Govt in Power be it the Federal or State Governments.
Soon,the PM will announced his new Cabinet and maybe there will be many new faces and old faces also.
So,what's in store for the Rakyat,people like you and me ?
As what Dr.J.M.Juran the World's Best Known Quality Guru together with Dr.Deming and Dr.Crosby,he have introduced one of the important mgmt tool known as the Pareto Analysis or Pareto Diagram.This tool was originally developed by Alfredo Pareto but it was Dr.Juran who showed us the methodology and features of using this tool effectively.
Dr.Juran mentioned that in any process or situation,there will be this 80:20 Principle where 80% of the problems are caused by 20% of the overall factors or variables.Here he also mean that the 20% or vital few factors can caused or impact the 80% of the problems we faced in our organisation or processes.
So,"attack" the vital few factors and we can see the drastic reduction of the problems in hand maybe to a level of 50% overall reduction.
In our social strata or population like in Malaysia,maybe it can be said that 80% of the nation's wealth is in the hands of 20% of the population or rakyat.It is also the same in a company,where 20% of the employees are management staff while 80% are non management but there are few exceptions when the company is "top heavy".
So,lets hope the nation's wealth will be better distributed to a bigger % of the Rakyat maybe from 80:20 to 60:40 so that 60% of the nation's wealth is now in the hands of 40% of the rakyat and not 20% or worst still 10% etc..
Maybe some statisticians can help US explain or verify this datas for a clearer understanding of this wealth distribution in Malaysia especially and the World at large.
