I have been doing Origami for more than 35 years, I could make thumbtacks or pumpkins or kittens... but one day I made some "more adult" figures, and a publisher said, "Can you do some more, I'll pay you some good money and we'll make a book?"

Detectar la afectación del ganglio centinela permite mejorar el diagnóstico y el tratamiento en tumores de vulva y cérvix
Pamplona, 3 julio (CERES TELEVISIÓN).-
Según un estudio en pacientes, realizado por el doctor Manuel GarcÃa Manero, especialista en GinecologÃa. El análisis intraoperatorio del primer ganglio ya se aplica con buenos resultados pronósticos en casos de melanoma y cáncer de mama.
La técnica para detectar la existencia o no de afectación tumoral en el ganglio centinela resulta también eficaz en el diagnóstico y tratamiento del cáncer de vulva y de cérvix (cuello de útero), según los resultados obtenidos por el doctor Manuel GarcÃa Manero, especialista del departamento de GinecologÃa de la ClÃnica Universitaria de Navarra. Su aplicabilidad en cáncer de endometrio se encuentra todavÃa en fase de estudio. Aunque la técnica diagnóstica del ganglio centinela no puede considerarse generalizada, la utilización de este procedimiento se viene aplicando desde hace algunos años en el tratamiento del melanoma, primero, y de cáncer de mama después.
Actualmente, algunos estudios han comprobado la indicación beneficiosa del ganglio centinela en la detección precoz y determinación del tratamiento en otros tipos de cáncer ginecológico, como el de cérvix, vulva y endometrio. Según explica el especialista de la ClÃnica Universitaria de Navarra, "el planteamiento actual de la cirugÃa oncológica se orienta hacia técnicas cada vez menos invasivas y más selectivas, que nos permitan una adecuada selección de las pacientes con el fin de establecer de forma certera el diagnóstico y pronóstico de una enfermedad, para de este modo poder indicar el tratamiento más ajustado en cada caso, disminuyendo la morbilidad (efectos adversos para la salud) que se asocia con las técnicas radicales".
